October 24, 2013, Shopping

From Melina

Today is bath day. So, I put Bea in yesterday's clothes to go down for breakfast and the she can fill her diaper and then we can have our bath. She does much better in the tub. She likes to fill a cup and drink the water -noooo... I don't even use the water to brush my teeth. It is not a good idea to drink the water. She splashes around, lays down and rolls over. It was a struggle to get her out, but she enjoys putting baby lotion on her legs. She loves lotion (any lotion) period.

I dressed Bea in Jessica's son's shoes and she left them on the whole time -hallelujah!!  Maureen and I think she likes them because the give her ankles more support. She certainly walks better while wearing them. Not as many falls. It is crazy as many times as she wipes out on the floors, hits her head while having tantrums that she does not cry and even though I will go pick her up to comfort her, she does not like the comforting - she is tough.

We gave the kids a snack before heading out.
We decided to take the kids and go out for a walk/shopping. Maureen got a taste of how it is to walk in UB - hazardous. We went to Mary and Martha and then KFC for lunch. Bea chowed down on the chicken strips and French fries, but still does not like sprite. She is a fickle eater, one meal she will eat something, the next meal no as she moves her body away from me making a negative noise.  It is a real challenge sometimes picking out food for her. She then began playing with her food. It is exhausting taking her out in public.

We then walked back to the hotel. I let her walk around in a tshirt and the boots. Maureen opened a window because she was hot. I tell her this is what Bea is use to. The orphanage was very warm and they dress the children like it is below freezing. Then May and her daughter walk in -busted! I try to casually close the window. Jessica brought her little one over with only a diaper on. He drools constantly. May told her she needs to cover his tummy and cover his feet. Good thing, Bea had on a shirt and shoes -no socks.

We fed the kids dinner at the hotel. Since we were already out once today, no need to go out again.
